The Site Formerly Known As 100 Portraits

NEWS FLASH! 100 Portraits' official site is now somewhere else entirely:
http:/www.100portraits.com/
This site is no longer the official site, it's just the original fan site. The new, official site has everything from interviews to ordering information to details about their instruments. What's left for me? Watch this space for reviews of their newer CDs!

"Although they have been married for only a few months, Ben and Robin act as if they've been together forever. Recently while attending a concert of theirs at a local coffee bar called Cafe Bliss, I commented on the shirt Ben was wearing in one of their videos. He asked if I wanted it...what a guy! He'll even give you the shirt off his back! Seriously , though, they both have very humble spirits and a call to ministry." -Randall. P. Williams (written in 1994 or 1995)

Ben and Robin perform in a style unlike anything we've ever heard before -- and we've heard it all. With Ben on acoustic guitar and Robin on an Earthdrum, they really rip through songs like the title track to their firts album, Time Will Be The Tell. Randall asked Ben and Robin for permission to add them to his pages on the Internet and they graciously and joyfully consented. But Randall is pretty busy, so their pages moved south a bit - but on the net, who can tell? Anyway, now we'll shut up and let them tell their story...

This is NEW music. This is independent music. This is the acoustic, alternative groove of 100 Portraits. For four years now, this band has regularly played at college campuses and community events in places like WI, IO, MI, OK, TX, AL, GA, FL, and Mexico each year.

Released in March of 1995, Time Will Be The Tell is a 12 song collection of powerful, band driven music. On a moody rhythm section rests the harmonies of Ben and Robin Pasley while the clean acoustic and frustrated guitars swim through the mix...

In Their Words...

Robin: "When I met Ben, my dreams of doing really interesting music came true. I had always liked bands like the Sundays, the Cranberries, and 10,000 Maniacs, but I wanted to do something I could call my own...this drum I play is called a Djembe -- it's an African drum that has these really great tones you can feel when you play it. So what we do now is blend my love of rhythms and free melody lines with Ben's need to put some begging and pleading in every song..."

Ben: "I really can't help the fact that most of my songs talk about my experiences with God. My adventures -- emotionally, physically, mentally -- since becoming a Christian have really overwhelmed me. I think a lot of our songs have a dark feel not because we are depressed, but because it really hurts us to see so many people not even trying to reach out and connect with God... obeying God is not very popular...our music aches with the dilemma..."
